35mm Projectors for Cambridge

A request from a college in Cambridge for 35mm equipment came in, and a Westar in our collection was selected to be suitable for them. Here we can see Peter getting it ready for them.

They need the ability to play Dolby Digital soundtracks, and here you can see Dion making a plate to mount the penthouse Dolby Digital Cat. 702 reader. The reader has had to be fitted on the front as there is a strict height restriction in the projection room in Cambridge. Mounting the reader on the plate raised the top spool arm by just 10mm.

We want this projector to be "turn key" drop-in and use, and here Allan Foster and Symon Culpan are fitting a consumer unit to the Cambridge machine so that both the Westar motor and 1600 Orcon lamp house are individually fused.

Lastly the projector was given a respray, and Allan checks over the Ocron 1600 lamphouse before it will be mounted for final testing before sending to Cambridge University.
